The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber (倚天屠龍記 1986)

Another Louis Cha classic, about a young hero caught between clans, loyalties and several women. Tony Leung Chiu-wai (梁朝偉) plays Cheung Mo-gei (張無忌) as gentle and indecisive. That fits the story better than a stoic hero would.

The pacing is uneven, but the themes of duty and trust hold. I enjoyed how it treats friendship as strength. Some fights look rough, which adds charm.

Thirty episodes make a compact way into the story. It is a nice contrast with the more heroic adaptations. I would call it underrated.
