My Date with a Vampire (我和殭屍有個約會)

A comic horror romance that mixes ghosts, hopping vampires and teenage crushes. It is silly, sweet and strangely affecting. I came for the nostalgia and stayed for the jokes.

The effects are cheerfully homemade, and the tone never takes itself seriously. Between the gags there is a real thread about loss and second chances. It is easy to see why it found a loyal following.

Forty episodes of this might sound like a lot, but each one moves quickly. A good choice when you want laughs with a little ache. I could see myself returning to it.
